Hello! I am Lesley Gough, the artist and creator behind these creations. My art is a direct reflection of my deep love of the natural world. I am incredibly lucky to live and work in the Yorkshire Dales. The rugged hills, changing weather, and local wildlife of this beautiful landscape constantly inspire my creativity. Bringing the animals and nature to life through art is my passion.

My Creative Journey: Big and Bold to Small and Detailed

People often ask me how I choose between making large garden sculptures and tiny beaded jewellery. For me they are two sides of the same creative coin. Both crafts require an immense amount of patience, precision and a love for colour.

The Mosaic Collection

My mosaic work allows me to think big. I love the physical process of cutting glass, arranging tiles, and watching a colourful bird, hare or wild flower emerge from the raw materials is an incredibly rewarding and joyful way to add permanent colour to any outdoor space.

The Jewellery Collection

My jewellery work is where I slow down and focus on the details. Working with premium Miyuki Delica beads is almost like a meditation. Stitching each tiny glass cell one by one lets me recreate the intricate patterns of feathers, leaves, and animal coats with perfect precision.

My Creative Journey

For years, my life’s work was dedicated to guiding others through profound transitions. As a CBT and Equine therapist, ayurvedic practitioner and farmer living in a beautiful landscape. I had the deep privilege of holding space for healing, transformation, and self-discovery.

I learned that true healing is about gently untangling our emotions and finding balance. Now, I am channelling those years of therapeutic wisdom and deep listening into a new calling: mosaics, gemstone jewellery, and painting.

I believe that the creative process shares a beautiful, natural thread with my past work. Each piece I create is an extension of my holistic background:

Mosaics: Just like piecing together life's fragments in therapy, mosaics teach us to take shattered, separate elements and arrange them into something whole, strong, and deeply beautiful.
Gemstone & Delica jewellery: Working with natural gemstones carries the grounding energy of Ayurveda, while the precision of tiny Delica beadwork requires the absolute mindfulness and presence I practiced in my clinical work.
Painting: Putting brush to canvas offers a liberating space for raw emotional expression, serving as a quiet, visual continuation of the animals and landscapes I so love.
